First I will say its no battle., its logic and interpretation.

The first statement :1 Rabbit saw 6 Elephants while going to the river.

Indicates that rabbit was going to the river. Not the elephants.

The second statement: Every Elephant saw 2 Monkeys going towards the river.

Indicates that there were just 2 monkeys, it doesn't say there were separate monkeys seen by each of them.

The third statement: Every Monkey holds 1 Parrot in their hands.

Shows that there were 2 parrots, one held by each monkey.

So, How many animals are going towards the river?

I will say 5. A rabbit, 2 monkeys and 2 parrots.

Please note: Birds species are included in animals. (scientifically any multicellular organism that can move is animal ). Infact they are considered to be the last of dinosaurs.

Also although its said that parrots are held by monkeys, the net movement of parrots is also towards the river. Hence I considered them.
