NUTAN Musical Programme - RUPAVAHINI - 1982

“ NUTAN MUSICAL PROGRAMME” – 30th April 1982.
Rupavahini was launched on the 15th of February 1982. A couple of months later, a Grand Musical Show was organized by United National Party at the Galle Face Green on the 1st of May 1982 to mark the MAY DAY Celebrations. Very Famous Popular Hindi Film Actress and Singer “NUTAN” was the Main Celebrity of that evening show. She was invited by my freind Mr. Ananda Wickramasinghe. I was able to convince him and organized this special recording of NUTAN in the rush during her tight time schedule.
This was the First Musical Programme produced in the small News Studio of Rupavahini. Technically, We did not have Special Effects or any Digital Effects. The only technique we had at that time was “Chroma Key” and the facility of having only two News Cameras.
I Directed and Produced the programme while performing my normal duties as Vision Mixer and Technical Director.
