Last week, we hosted the Women in Motorsport and Virtual Engineering event with our partners in recognition and support of the women who innovate, build, and create in the world of automotive and motorsports.
Under the guidance of Cindy Sisson (Executive Director, WIMNA), the manufacturers’ panel discussion covered key industry topics and trends with numerous industry trailblazers: Lisa Drake (VP, EV Programs & Energy Supply Chain, Ford), Grace Hansen (VP of Global Change and Capability, Stellantis), and Marissa West (Senior VP and President, North America, GM). Each of these inspirational leaders shared valuable insights into their career as pioneers in the automotive industry.
Following the discussion, professional drivers Sabré Cook and Isabella Robusto put on their racing shoes to demonstrate the DiM-250 simulator, setting benchmark lap times on the new Detroit GP downtown circuit for our guests to try and beat on the Full Spectrum Dynamic Simulator. Attendees were also able to explore other simulators that play a vital role in the virtual engineering and development process.
The two drivers then joined Laura Klauser (Sports Car Racing Program Manager, GM) and Leena Gade (Vehicle Dynamics Manager and Race Engineer, Multimatic) on stage for the motorsports panel discussion, recounting what it was like to break through and succeed in a male-dominated sport.
A very special thank you to all our inspirational panelists, guests, and partners at AMD, Recaro, VI-grade, and WIMNA for making this event a tremendous success!
