On my last visit to Hong Kong, I visited the Peak Tram.

Cost to ride the Peak Tram: HK$ 83 (Return) HK$ 71 (Single)
Includes the Sky Terrace 428 visit (Recommended)
Only Peak Tram: HK$ 40 (Return) HK$ 28 (Single)

Getting to the peak Tram: I stayed at the Regal Airport hotel at Chep Lap Kok airport and took the airport express MTR.

How long does the Peak Tram take: Not more than 5-6 minutes. The climb is extremely steep. As you can see from the video, most buildings seem tilted due to the nature of the climb.

How to go to the Peak Tram: There are plenty of ways to reach the Peak Tram. You can use the MTR to reach the nearest train station and then take a public bus till the Tram station like I did or hire a taxi.

Other suggestions:
Visit the Peak Tram during the daytime to enjoy the beautiful view.
Visit it on a clear sunny day, avoid it on a foggy, rainy day.
Don't take the direct bus or a taxi right upto the Peak. Experience the Tram, you'll like it.
Take precautions if you get nauseous due to height and pressure changes.
