In this Excel tutorial, we'll go over what Flash Fill is and how to use Flash Fill in Excel.

What is Flash Fill?
Excel Flash Fill works by detecting patterns in formatting and then applying it to other cells.

How to Use Flash Fill?
To use Flash Fill, all you have to do is type 1 or 2 examples of how you'd like for your data to look in a cell adjacent to the last column of the data that you're reformatting. Then, Flash Fill will work to recognize the pattern and autofill the other cells in that column to reflect the pattern.

Once you see the pattern begin to autofill, you can simply press Enter to make the changes or use the Ctrl+E keyboard shortcut to apply the Flash Fill formatting.
