Der Geher in Hamburg: UNESCO World Heritage Site Speicherstadt

I am Der Geher and I'm walking through the UNESCO World Heritage Speicherstadt in Hamburg. The path leads from the Chilehaus past the Deichtorhallen and over the Poggenmühlen Bridge with a view of the Wasserschloss. You will also pass St. Annen Church, the Fleetschlösschen and the Miniaturwunderland (the largest model railway in the world). After the Magellan Terraces follows the Sandtor harbor. The route ends at the Niederbaum bridge with a view over the Kehrwiederfleet.

Speicherstadt is the world's largest historic warehouse complex. The complex was built in neo-Gothic brick architecture on oak piles between 1883 and 1927. As a free port, imported goods could be stored, processed and refined here duty-free. Except for numerous carpet warehouses, this status was revoked in 2003. Since July 5th 2015, the Speicherstadt and the Kontorhaus District with the Chilehaus have been included in the World Heritage List.
