For the first time in my 67 years Derbyshire County Council and Police decided to close all roads out of Buxton at 6pm last Thursday in anticipation of what Storm Goretti would bring and not even a snowflake had fallen when they were closed...It was predicted that nearly 12 inches (30cm) of snow would fall here in the Peak District but in reality maybe just over 6 inches (15cm) maybe fell...Some roads were still closed off Friday morning and many folk could not get into work in or out of town...I understand why the authorities made this unusual decision but it was no different from any other snowfall in recent years...I have had to create AI images of a fair representation of what the Peak District looks like today and it has been brilliant sunshine today...I would have loved to have gone out and taken some real pics but I had a flare up of Gout over Christmas and even though it is getting better I still can't put my walking boots on yet and it is no fun walking in the snow wearing slippers...I hope you enjoy my Music called After the Storm - Shining Peaks...Thanks for Watching and Listening...Les.
