Here is my 3 yr old male Doberman.

Stage one in teaching a dog to bark on command. He has not ever been taught this. This is STAGE 1.

This is a fun trick to show family and friends, but can also help in teaching a dog to make wiser choices if they have an behaviour issue with barking too much. Be patient. Use a high value treat. This means NOT the normal reward (and not kibble), but something your dog absolutely loves and won't make them sick. You can use ground beef, chicken, raw, cooked, packaged treats like rollover or dehydrated liver, dog treats or pizza! The point is use something that they really really want. Do not attempt this after a meal.

Don't mind my attire. I chose to make this video when working from home, dressed down, and decided to try to teach my Doberman this trick! lol

This video is 1 of 2. The other video is teaching the dog with hand signal so I don't have to look silly barking at my dog. We use the command "speak" eventually, to tie it together. Good luck, be patient and practice makes perfect. Remember to have fun! Some dogs will get it right away. Others will take more time and patience. It's okay. All dogs can learn. :)
