Today, the U.S. CISA and the UK’s NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre), along with the FBI and international partners, published joint guidance titled “Creating and Maintaining a Definitive View of Your Operational Technology (OT) Architecture.”

This new guidance builds on prior OT asset inventory work and gives organizations a clear roadmap to:

1. Create and maintain an accurate, up-to-date record of their OT systems (hardware, software, connectivity)

2. Perform risk assessments, prioritize vulnerable and exposed systems, and apply proper security controls

3. Manage third-party risks, secure OT information, and design stronger architectural controls.

4. Align with international security standards like IEC 62443 and ISO/IEC 27001
