In this work, the proposed sorting machine can corporate compatibility by using conveyor belt and infrared sensors to detect size of the boxes in three different ranges and finally sort the material separately in assigned basket by using rack and pinion controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (Mitsubishi's FX5U series PLC).
Our project ultimately focuses on developing an automatic sorting system based on height. Sorting is achieved by an assembly of Infrared sensors and DC motor interfaced to PLC through program(ladder logic).
