Usurper of Debenham - drone marathon & fundraiser for air-defense. live Kyiv Ukraine 25 may 2024

Usurper of Debenham is a solo project by Clemens Poole based around dark soundscapes and shifting rhythmic compositions. The first two albums, Usurper of Debenham and Nights Errant, formed from collected recordings made while “usurping” the spaces and equipment of friends while traveling. The third album, Closeness, was created in 2023 as a commission for a performance by artists Daria Lytvynenko & Jasmin Schaitl as an APL (Angewandte Performance Laboratory) associated project, and in collaboration with Notgalerie #Ukraine − Migration and Art.
This live set is a collection of improvisations and prepared material reworked to adapt to the dark ambient atmosphere of the project. Previous recordings can be found at Kyivpastrans.bandcamp.com

47h DRONE MARATHON & FUNDRIZER for UKRAINE's AIR-DEFENSE
25th of May International Drone Day is celebrated, as well as the day of Kyiv. This year Pererva Studio, Ceramic Beats, and KYIVPASTRANS Records organised a hybrid performance based in Kyiv, Ukraine. For 47 hours (from 00:00 on May 25th'24 in the world’s first timezone to 23:59 in the world’s last time zone), more than 20 invited musicians were droning live in Kyiv’s studio Ceramic Beats, as well as re-streamed live drone performances from participating musicians around the world.
Our marathon is raising money for electronic anti-drone system parts as well as for a movable repairs kit to the air defense unit. They are defending Ukrainian skies from enemy drones, deactivating or shooting down enemy missiles and drones, protecting cities and other military and civilian targets.

47годинний ДРОН-МАРАФОН та ЗБІР на ЗАХИСТ НЕБА
25травня - відзначається День Києва, а також Міжнародний день дрон-музики і цього року Pererva Studio, Ceramic Beats та KYIVPASTRANS Records вирішили організувати тривалий гібридний стрім-виступ з Києва. Більше 20ти музикантів зіграли наживо в київській студії Ceramicbeats, в форматі сольних дрон-виступів або дрон джем-сессій. Також в марафоні було задіяно 10+ прямих включеннь-виступів з артистами з усього світу, що погодились підримати нашу ініціативу благодійного марафону.
47 годин (з 00:00 25 травня в першому часовому поясі світу до 23:59 в останньому часовому поясі світу) дрон звучав в прямому ефірі.
Наш марафон збирає на дрони і системи РЕБ, а також на ремонтно-житловий комплекс для київського підрозділу ППО, наших друзів, що захищають українське небо від ворожих безпілотників.
