Black Blood Python (p.Curtus)

This Python Curtus has been with me for about 4 months now. She was produced by Nick Bottini of Cold Blooded Earth and I received her in a trade from Laura Whilden of Southern Scales Exotics.

While p.Curtus, or Sumatran python is the preferred name for this species, Black Blood is how many of you may know them. Personally, I think black blood is a pretty cool name, but will use the modern and correct terminology just to avoid confusion with the other short tail species.

If you are looking for a short tail, this is an excellent choice as long as you adhere to their husbandry requirements. They stay relatively small compared to their short tail counterparts, but are still a stocky and intelligent species.

Prices will vary, but keep in mind not all will turn black. Researching a reputable breeder and communicating your expectations for your snake will help put you on the right track.
