To note that, according to ZaChousenWan's comment on the post above, HeyJay's build has a base defense of 909. I am not able to reach that exact number because the armors I was wearing were already maxed out, which I think HeyJay didn't do at this time since he didn't hunt all monsters in the game yet. However, my Garuga Greaves were only lvl 1, so that compensated for the increased defense on my other armor pieces, leaving me in the end with a base defense of 895 (including with armortalon and armorcharm).

To note that at the end I show my gear again, in order to see how much my defense and damage increased due to the Fortify buff.

For this challenge I did not use my palico, as I was not certain what were the restrictions for the palico's equipment.

Also, I started this challenge one day before the deadline, and my Alatreon event on that day was Dawn of the Death Star, meaning I had to use an Ice element switch axe against an Alatreon starting in Ice form... lucky me.
Because of this, I needed to not break his horn in his first phase, so he would change in fire form after his first escaton.
Also, since the first escaton was a guaranteed faint, I decided to not eat until after that.
Well... I still died in the 2nd escaton (didn't pass the elemental dps check), so that plan went down the drain faster than I would have liked, but I still think it was a good plan... if I didn't die again so fast.


This was my first time defeating Alatreon with a Switch Axe.
