After a thrilling recovery in the opening heat of the Jugette, Showherthemoney minded her manners in the second heat and was crowned 2009 Jugette champion after making things look easy in 1:53.

The Jugette, for three-year-old pacing fillies, was contested in a pair of heats during the afternoon of Wednesday, September 23 at the Delaware County Fair in Ohio over a track rated 'good.'

After proving her mettle in her opening heat elimination, Showherthemoney left from Post 2 in the second heat with drive Jim Morrill, Jr. in the pilot's seat once again. Fellow opening heat victor Ginger And Fred started from Post 1 in the second heat with Dave Palone in the racebike.

When the wings of the gate folded, Morrill hustled Showherthemoney away from the start and deposited the bay Cams Card Shark filly in the three-hole. As expected, Palone had fired Ginger And Fred off the rail to the lead. Driver Mark MacDonald, steering Kabbalah Karen, had also sent his charge from Post 6 and landed in the two hole.

As the opening quarter approached, Morrill had Showherthemoney out and moving to the lead. The duo were overland, right beside Ginger And Fred, when the opening quarter-mile time flashed to life in :27.3.

Morrill and Showherthemoney cleared right after the opening quarter. The move proved to be the winning one.

Morrill and his charge went on to cut the middle fractions in :56.2 and 1:25. With Ginger And Fred having held the pocket spot throughout the middle half of the mile, driver John Campbell worked out a first-over trip with his mount, Kiss Me Kate, throughout the final half of the prestigious stakes event.

Neither Ginger And Fred or Kiss Me Kate would be able to touch Showherthemoney, though, as the Tracy Brainard-trained filly capped off an impressive afternoon. Ginger And Fred finished second and Kiss Me Kate third. Kabbalah Karen picked up the fourth-place cheque and Special Sweetheart (driven by David Miller) secured fifth.

With the win, Showherthemoney upped her seasonal record to eight wins, two second-place finishes and two thirds from 17 starts.

Showherthemoney is owned by Bulletproof Enterprises of Boca Raton, Florida. The filly now has a career record of 9-3-5 from 25 career starts.
