Police busted a fake call center on Tuesday operating out of Assam's Kokrajhar, which was reportedly swindling job seekers through bogus advertisements.

The operation led to the arrest of two men from Uttar Pradesh and the detention of four local women who were hired to assist in the scam.

The fraudulent gang had established their base in Kokrajhar, renting a house to run their operations under the guise of a legitimate recruitment agency.

They targeted job seekers by promising employment opportunities with reputed companies such as Tata Motors, luring individuals into paying fees for job placements.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials conducted a raid on the premises, uncovering the fraudulent activities. During the operation, police seized ten mobile phones and several incriminating documents related to the scam.

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts to identify and apprehend additional members of the ring.
