Enroll in the FREE online class, Worlds of Speculative Fiction - https://reasonio.teachable.com/p/worl...

We have restarted the Worlds of Speculative Fiction lecture/discussion series in a new online monthly format. Each session will have a roughly 90-120-minute-long video (this one is longer, though!), which will be premiered (allowing chat interaction between viewers and myself). Then immediately following that, we will have a Zoom videoconferencing session, where we'll continue the discussion.

This session focuses on the fantasy and science fiction author Tad William's Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy of novels. Since these are such massive works, we are looking at the first two novels in this session, and following up with another session looking at the third book. We discuss the worldbuilding and key philosophical themes developed within the books, including two resumes of the novels' events provided by Williams himself

The works that we draw upon and focus on in this session are:
The Dragonbone Chair - https://amzn.to/4hUhoSW
The Stone of Farewell - https://amzn.to/3ZiCLWJ

The intro and outro music for this video is "Juno In The space Maze" by Loopop, made available in the public domain by YouTube Audio Library
