Now available for pre-order is a new Bass Communion album Dronework 2019. Those who have followed Steven Wilson's Bass Communion project may know that the track Dronework was originally recorded during the 2003 sessions for the album Ghosts on Magnetic Tape, but released as a standalone EP in 2 very limited editions, going on to become one of the most popular BC releases. It was subsequently unavailable for many years until it was made available for digital download on the Bass Communion band camp page earlier this year. Now comes a reissue of Dronework in physical form. However, rather than a straight reissue, Steven decided to revisit the original source material to create new versions with a view to making a full album length edition.

The original 20 minute Dronework was recorded in 2003 during the sessions for the Bass Communion album Ghosts on Magnetic Tape. It was subsequently released as a standalone EP, first as a CDR in 2004, then as a 1,000 copy factory pressed CD edition in 2008. It appears here in newly remastered form on side A.

The piece on side B was created in 2019 using the original elements as a starting point, but with the addition of several new sounds and layers. It is exclusive to this cassette and does not appear on the CD edition.
