‘Batenge Toh Katenge’: Yogi’s Clarion Call, Endorsed By Modi & RSS, Is BJP’s Maharashtra Mantra & Lawrence Bishnoi gang's threat to Bihar MP: Tracking you, stay away from Salman case Focus Hindustan 28th Oct 2024 News

The slogan could be the BJP’s ace to consolidate the OBC and the Dalit vote in their favour in Maharashtra to defeat the formidable challenge from the Maha Vikas Aghadi
Batenge toh Katenge’ (If we are divided, we will lose) — this clarion call given first by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to the Hindu community during the Haryana elections was backed recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Over the weekend, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) endorsed it as well, making it the new go-to political slogan for BJP.
This slogan one could hear post-Diwali from election stages of the BJP’s top campaigners in the all-important election of Maharashtra. This is a state where consolidating the sizeable OBC and Dalit vote is crucial for the BJP-led alliance of Mahayuti (MY) to defeat the formidable challenge from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Consider this — Maharashtra and Haryana are among the two states where BJP suffered heavy reverses in the recent Lok Sabha elections. While BJP’s tally in Haryana came down from 10 seats to five since 2019, it came down sharply in Maharashtra from 23 seats to just nine. In both states, the reason was similar — the Dalit vote moved away.

The Congress campaign over ‘Constitution will be changed’ and ‘reservation will be scrapped’ hurt the BJP in both states, apart from Uttar Pradesh. BJP now is trying hard to impress upon the Dalit voters that Congress built a ‘false bogey’ to divide Hindu votes. The BJP feels Dalits moved back to it in Haryana assembly elections as a result.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang's threat to Bihar MP: Tracking you, stay away from Salman case
In response to Baba Siddique's murder, Pappu Yadav had openly challenged Lawrence Bishnoi, declaring that if allowed, he would dismantle the network of "a two-bit criminal like Lawrence Bishnoi" within 24 hours.
Bihar MP Pappu Yadav has received a death threat allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In an audio clip, the caller claimed that he was closely monitoring Yadav’s movements, and threatened to kill him if he didn’t stay away from matters involving actor Salman Khan.

The caller also claimed that Lawrence Bishnoi - who is in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad - was paying Rs 1 lakh per hour to disable signal jammers, allowing him to establish direct communication with Yadav, who he said had been ignoring their calls.

In a recorded audio message, the caller can be heard saying, “You could have told ‘bhai’ that the media did this, not me. Settle the matter as soon as possible. I considered you an elder brother, and you've embarrassed me. Call back, and I’ll connect you with ‘bhai.’”

Yadav reported the threat to Bihar's Director General of Police (DGP), urging immediate action.

Condemning Baba Siddique’s murder, Yadav labelled it a disgrace, stating on X that the killing of a government-backed former minister highlighted “total lawlessness” in Maharashtra. He further remarked, “The murder of Bihar’s son, Baba Siddique, is extremely tragic. If the BJP-led government cannot protect its influential leaders, what hope is there for ordinary people?”

During a press conference that followed, Yadav grew visibly frustrated when journalists asked about Lawrence Bishnoi, reminding them, “I’ve already told you not to ask irrelevant questions here.” A video of him losing his temper during the exchange has since gone viral.
