TRIP REPORT | Qantas 787-9 | ECONOMY | QF460 Melbourne (MEL) to Sydney (SYD)

Welcome to a Brand New Trip Report, which is of my flight from Melbourne Airport (MEL) to Sydney (SYD) aboard Qantas Flight 460 which was operated by VH-ZNA which is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

On November 6th after a quiet morning, we ventured to Melbourne Airport to complete my first flight of the year and first flight in almost 2 years.

The quick flight to Sydney was extremely pleasant and it truly was an incredible experience to be able to fly on the Qantas 787-9 during it's very first few days of flying commercially around Australia. Currently, this 787 has been operating Melbourne to Perth, Perth to Melbourne & Melbourne to Sydney, Sydney to Melbourne flights with the odd visit to Australia's other capital cities locked in.

Dinner was served as we were climbing with the options of Pasta Salad and a Chicken dish with Jasmine rice on offer. I went for the Chicken dish which ended up being very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal considering it is after all 'airline food'.

To conclude the flight was fantastic, this goes from the service from the flight attendants to the comfort of the seat and quality of the food. I was very optimistic about traveling from Perth to London and I often wondered how people would manage it, however, I can say with confidence that I would most definitely be able to do that onboard this excellent aircraft.

Once again massive thanks to Qantas for putting on an excellent flight with VH-ZNA!
