Some call it a curse, some a miracle, and others an anomaly, but the truth is Faridabad's Death Valley is one of the only pristine wildlife ecosystems left in the city that offers people a comforting seclusion. Located in Surajkund, the valley is a collection of seven abandoned mines that are filled with natural crystal blue water. The lakes are the byproduct of many illegal mining operations that occurred here till 1991. Legend has it that the miners dug to such depths that that they touched groundwater and the areas surrounding the mines became natural lakes. Over the years, these lakes have claimed the lives of many visitors, thus earning the name- Death Valley.
