About Shri Siddheshwar Wadi, Parner :
Its an ancient temple dedicated to Mahadeva, or lord Shiva situated in the district of Ahmednagar in Maharashtra. The temple is believed to be first constructed in the Yadava empire i.e somewhere between 12-14th century, but it was renovated by Peshwa minister, Naro Babaji Nagarkar who has renovated other Shiva temples, like Shukleshwar in Bhingar.
Also, you would find here caves of many saints, including descendants of Parashar muni, after whom Parner has been supposedly named i.e Parik as well as , the cave of founder of Mahanubhav pant, Shri Chakradhar Swami.

The renovation reflects the Maratha temple architecture, as the shikhara seems to be built in Bhumija architecture. There is a bell in the temple premise, which has a Christian cross on it - hence depicting the war trophy that Chimaji Appa (brother of Bajirao Peshwa) had got after victory over the Portuguese from the Vasai Fort. But its very heartwarming to see that these bells have a got a new identity as they have been reinstated in 38 temples across 34 towns of Maharashtra, including Siddheshwar.

In the month of Shravan, many devotees pay their visit to this holy shrine, especially on the third shravani somwar when a beautiful yatra or fair sort of happens.
The devotion and enthusiasm of devotees renders a different charm to this ancient place.

About this video :
In this video, we try to share the glimpse of the yatra that happened on third shravani somwar in 2022, along with highlighting the temple architecture and the beautiful mountains, flaunted by caves of saints and waterfalls. We have aimed to capture glimpses of this ancient devotional place located in the rainfed plateau, Parner and present in a cinematic way. We really hope you like it!
