As it will be explained shortly, WordPress by default uses the PHP Mail function to send out emails originating from your website.

However, SMTP is much better to be used because it is even more effective in sending any sort of messages and now you are guaranteed your emails will go straight to the inbox folder of your target recipients.

Hi everyone and welcome to our channel if you are a WordPress lover.

Hello my name is Robert and in this demonstration I will walk you through on how to use WP Mail SMTP by WPForms.

I mean let us proceed and install it, enable it then navigate to its settings.

That you can see on the left side you have a link with word WP Mail SMTP Oh I’m going to click on it and show you how to set up everything in detail.

As you can see, there are five here were and the first one is for General Settings, there is the Email Test tab then the Email Log tab which is quite useful in checking every email sent through the WordPress site.

The final one is to stop sending emails, hide announcements, hide email delivery errors options which should be used only for staging and development sites is checked if you want to delete ALL WP Mail SMTP data when the plugin is deleted.

Remember also that, all these settings will be non reversible.

Thus the first thing to do here is modify the From Email, which is the email address emails are sent from.

The From Name would be your name instead of your website’s name which creates more trust.

If the return path box is not checked, delivered bounce messages may not be received; some providers may not consider this option.

The mailer service is PHP by default and this is the reason why your message never goes out through contact forms or other tools that uses the email sender functionality.

You may use such services as SMTP.com, Pepipost, or Gmail, but in this video, I am going to utilize the Other SMTP mailer that is available with your hosting provider or email service.

This is a demo website at Siteground and I will explain it to you and show where you can locate all these details such as SMTP Host, port, username, password.

Login to your hosting account and under Domains & hosting, select Websites, then site tools and finally under emails, Accounts settings.

When do not have an e-mail, the necessary newly created one and remember that the e-mail and password are the corresponding SMTP Username and the SMTP Password which have to be copied to these fields.

Yes I have this [email protected] and you can see that I have these dots Action on the right below.

Merely right click on it to open the setting menu where you get the last option, Mail Configuration.

The tab in the middle that says Manual Settings is where you can get everything you need.

You may just need to copy and paste the Email Configuration data here instead with the following steps:

As you can see this is my username and so I have to log in using the password of this email account honestly I don’t remember, so I will go back and regenerate one.

After that I’m free to begin with my username and of course I want to make sure that everything is correct so I will copy every detail, even the password, however the password is out of this process.

The first field should contain the SMTP host which is the outgoing server so I will copy and paste this address, like so.

Then I have to select the Encryption type in which I select SSL and ensure the port that is generated by default is 465 of the SMTP.

Enable Auto TLS then activate the Authentication feature before entering your email as the SMTP Username and your password.

The final step in the process is to use the mouse pointer and click on the Save Settings button below and you are ready.

Congratulations buddy – you can now test how it works.

This way I can put any email here and when I go to Send Email I get the confirmation that it was indeed a test to see how the HTML email was sent successfully.

Now if I go to that email inbox there is a message that say congratulations test email was sent successfully.

Perfect.

Thus, as of now when you are to send any email from your website this will be done in this format rather than the PHP mailer method which is provided by default.

This will create positive signal to other email serves and it will allow the message to pass through.

I hope it was helpful and it will assist you with your e-commerce website that doesn’t send out emails.

This mailer service or any of the other available SMTP services should be used by any web site that has a contact form to ensure that the contact is right.

Thanks for tuning it, stay blessed and let’s keep doing what we’re doing in the next video.

Cheers.
