Colombia has been locked in an unending series of civil conflicts since the 1960s. In 2012 a counterinsurgency effort was made by the Colombian government in an attempt to put down the FARC rebels by crippling them economically and militarily. It was known as the Espada de Honor War Plan and the ultimate goal was to take down the 15 most powerful fronts in FARC leadership.
