Maybe it's because of his amiable disposition that people seem to collaborate with him so readily; he's been known to play with Laura Ivancie, Dojo Toolkit, Urban Sub Allstars, Tony Smiley, Jordan Harris, Brian Grayson, and many others. We met up with Wil at Star Theater to talk about his newest project: the release of his solo EP.
"I had a lot of songs that I'd kind of written that didn't really fit with any of the other projects I was doing, and I just figured it was time to kind of let them out," he said of his decision to go solo.

You'll want to keep your ears open for this release. Wil's sound is at once soulful and fresh—he describes it as "John Mayer meets Ray Lamontagne at a Radiohead concert." This trio of soul, blues, and alternative rock turns out to be a pretty powerful combinatioin.

Wil is putting his newest songs up online at CD Baby and iTunes around May 19th. (Although I recommend that you go to a show and buy the physical copy from him instead—he's a fantastic live performer.) In the meantime, you can find out more about his music at wilkinky.com.
