Alessandra Raimondi, MD, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, explores an individual patient data pooled analysis assessing the therapeutic management of resectable MSI/dMMR gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma (GEA). Data from multiple trials, including INFINITY (NCT04817826) and NEONIPIGA (NCT04006262), show that neoadjuvant immune checkpoint inhibition leads to significantly higher pathologic response rates than chemotherapy. Despite comparable survival outcomes across treatment strategies, these findings support further investigation into organ-sparing approaches or non-operative management to optimize patient quality of life and minimize surgical morbidity. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
