RC4WD Gelande 2 D90 + Custom FMS Arizona Jeep 1/18th Scale Trails

I've liked these little Gelande 2s for ages, but they're pretty expensive. So when this one turned up for a decent price on eBay – in good condition and with a couple of small upgrades – it was just too much temptation... 😎

It's stock bar the metal sidesteps (which I swapped to the correct sides as they weren't fitted right) and the ARB diff covers, and this was my first test run with it. Yes, it needs a driver! I plan to paint the body and the interior, too.

The stock electrics are fine (ish), and the all-metal chassis is actually really impressive – I didn't expect it to cope with much at all, to be honest, but it's really a pretty good performer (and more importantly, fun). It won't keep up with an SCX24, no, but then not much will. It's probably quite a scale performance when compared to the real thing.

Joining the D90 was Andrew's ‪@antrc‬ lovely-looking Jeep, an FMS Arizona which he's customised heavily. Unfortunately most of the 'heavily' is up in the top so it rolls like a ball at the slightest provocation, but he's working on that... so he claims...
