On April 14, 2014, two dive buddies embarked on an exploration dive in Du’an Guangxi. They decided to explore the cave past 558 ft (170 m) of depth. Unknown to them, a sad fate awaits one of them.

In the countryside of southern China, there's a place called Du’an. It's known for its gorgeous hills and clear rivers. People who enjoy diving love coming here because of how beautiful it is. The landscape is full of rivers, caves, and underwater formations, which are breathtaking to see. Du’an is a part of something big called the South China Karst system. This huge system includes areas in Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi provinces, all the way to Vietnam. Because of its natural beauty and importance, it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
