Our friend Peter visited with his radio controlled 7/8ths scale 'Bitzerloks'. One is seen gently trundling around the GBR 'main line' (unfortunately the driver wasn't aboard!), and the other can be just glimpsed on the branch. Both these locomotives are modified Roundhouse 'Hercules' (16mm scale) diesels.
"7/8ths scale" is the usual term used when referring to items modelled at 7/8ths of an inch to one foot scale. In this case the locomotive is running on 0 gauge track, which closely equates to 18 inch gauge in full size.
As you can see this scale/gauge combination makes for a large model running on 0 gauge track of what is a small prototype. We're glad that we had left our clearances wide enough to accommodate locomotives of this size.
