TFO Lefty Kreh Professional 2 - Review after using it for many years! - McFly Angler Reviews

The Lefty Kreh Professional 2 is probably the best rod under $200 on the market today. I really do think its a great all around rod. The moderate action is stiff enough to bomb streamers out at a decent distance, but its flexible enough for some finesse presentations and to allow you to feel your back cast. So for an all around rod, this would be my #1 pick under $200. In fact probably my favorite all around rod for under $400 even.

Not only is the moderate action great for an all around rod, its also wonderful for a new fisherman. The first rod you get, you don't want to spend a ton of money. You want to spend less, just incase you don't like to fish. But you also want to get a rod that you won't feel you need to replace once you start getting more skilled in fishing and casting. Also, you want something easy to cast, and easy to learn and feel the flex of the rod. This rod hits all those points more than almost all rods out there. It really is the best rod for a beginner.

This rod is also a great rod for someone who is looking for a backup rod. With a backup rod, you want the rod to be durable, and you want the rod to be able to do what your other rod can do as well. Maybe not quite as good as your expensive high end rod, but it can do it. Well this rod, being a great all around rod, is the perfect backup rod. Its not too expensive, but its not a slouch either. It can give some power to make far casts, and it also can make finesse presentations as well. Its also durable, and I cannot tell you how many times I have bumped the tip, or dropped the rod. Any other rod I have would have busted, but this one still seems to hold up, and I haven't ever broken it in the multiple years of hard use.
