Weymouth, England in Dorset County is the 1st port on our British Isles Cruise aboard the Regal Princess. We took the complimentary bus from Portland (15 minute drive) that dropped us off at the 17th Century charming Harbor full of cottages, pubs, restaurants, shops, a “lifting road” bridge, fishing fleets, fish market, charter boats and even a Tall Ship Sailing Experience!
Walk across the bridge to the pedestrian friendly streets to the golden sand beach that makes this seaside resort a tourist haven! Among the activities there are the Sea Life Aquarium, Sand World, Sandsfoot Gardens, War memorials and the incredible Jurassic Coast is like walking through time with its rock formations and cliffs.

The ship docks at Portland, a tied island. There are quite a few things to do on Portland:
Nothe Fort, Church Ope Cove, Portland Museum, Portland Marina, Portland Castle, Castletown D-Day Center, the Lighthouse and Tout Quarry Sculpture Park . There were over 140,000 vehicles that left Portland Harbor, most from the US 1st Division to land on Omaha Beach.
