One of the coolest methods of photography is tintype. Actually known as wet plate collodion, this type of photography was invented in the 1850s and was popular all the way up to the 1930s. During the Civil War, many soldiers actually got their portraits taken with this method of photography because it was cheaper, faster and high-quality.
