Newsradio is one of my favorite all-time TV shows.

We lost Phil Hartman after season 4. His death shocked and saddened us, but was his loss was especially devastating to the cast and crew of Newsradio. Phil Hartman was an amazing talent, and he is still missed today.

I watched new episodes of Newsradio when I was in college, and I've enjoyed rewatching again and again for the past 30 years. Some series are stellar from the very beginning. Like capturing lightning in a bottle, Newsradio had great writing, direction, and a cast that is undeniably amazing from episode one. After Saturday Night Live, Phil Hartman could have helmed his own series, but instead joined the hilarious ensemble cast of Newsradio. Likewise, Dave Foley, of Kids in the Hall fame, could have done the same. Meanwhile, Joe Rogan, with hair, proves that a manly man with muscles can be very funny too! I could write an entire book about the how Newsradio deserves a place next to the greatest sitcoms of all time. Newsradio, stands alongside Seinfeld, The Office, Arrested Development, Friends, Cheers, and Frasier as one of the best comedies ever.
