The Gladmatfestivalen gathers in a normal year (ie without corona) 250,000 people over 4 days in the center of Stavanger. Whether you are a visitor from other parts of the country, from other parts of the county, or other parts of the municipality in Stavanger, we have gathered information here that we hope can help you make your journey as smooth as possible.
Gladmat has set itself a hair-raising goal, we will be Norway's most circular food festival. In 2020, we started the strategic work in collaboration with fantastic suppliers, exhibitors, and partners, and now we want to start with some of the specific measures
.Based on a thorough process, we have selected the following measures:
Operation of the Backyard without disposable tableware. The backyard consists of restaurants, as well as serving drinks. We buy a washable range and build up a mobile laundry in collaboration with our good partner Malerbua. The purpose is to reduce waste, and ensure that the public uses equipment that is to be used again. We make it easy for the public and exhibitors to make environmentally friendly choices.

Waste recycling. We are lucky to have IVAR's sorting plant as a neighbor. As long as we make arrangements for the public and exhibitors to sort at source, everything will be reused as resources. We get help from good volunteers, who in turn help us to sort correctly.

Reusable signage system. We spend a lot of resources on making sure that the communication around Gladmat is good. We know that we are going to say a lot to many, and it is therefore very important that the information is visible and understandable. We have developed a sign system in wood, which we will use again in the coming years.
