We are bringing you a program from Mashiko Town in Tochigi Prefecture. Mashiko is famous for "Mashiko ware." which was born at the end of the Edo period in the mid-1800s and was mainly produced as kitchen items, such as pots and water jars.Today, there are about 250 kilns making everything from traditional products to those with exquisite designs. We visited the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art and experience making Mashiko ware at Mashiko Pottery Cooperative Selling Center next to museum. Take a look!
