ORIGINAL INFO: Linkara and the Cinema Snob review the movie that eventually spawned Bimbos in Time!

RUMINATIONS: This crossover was the second I did with the Cinema Snob while we were filming Suburban Knights… and filmed on pretty much the same day. The first one we did was on a Manimal comic. Brad Jones is a huge fan of the short-lived TV show Manimal, but unfortunately the comic shares nothing with the show aside from the name. However, he enjoyed the comic just as a piece about a monster-guy who went around killing Nazis. You can check out that crossover for yourselves here: http://atopthefourthwall.com/manimal-1/

In the meantime, let’s talk about this one. For the longest time, Bimbos in Time was one of the worst comics I ever had to review, plus I did it while I was sick, so that did not help my disposition as I filmed it. As such, it’s held a bit of fascination for me. As it turns out, the guy who wrote it was technically Brad’s boss for some work he was doing at the time. He apparently was quite amused by the comic review and was amused and surprised that we were going to review Bimbos BC (as I said in the video, a fan had sent it to me), since it was such a piece of crap. And he’s quite right there.

Brad Jones is one of the friendliest, easy-going guys ever and he’s a delight to work with. He’s always got a big grin on his face and has a perfect handle on the character of the Snob. The bits in the video where our side characters met was inspired by when I was going to sleep one night and hit upon the realization that our characters bore some similarities. The bit at the end with Space Lancer Steve was there because he didn’t have a space character, so I decided to create the most pathetic, cheapest outfit I could for the character. It’s made up of aluminum foil and a spy toy from the Target next to our hotel. While Space Lancer Steve never made any more appearances in this form, Brad decided to take the name and general appearance of a space-themed character with tinfoil and transform it into something glorious over in his series “The Reviewers.” Considering that during filming, we went through at least a dozen different takes of the Space Lancer Steve bit because I kept breaking out into laughter every time I looked at him, I think he’s done well to keep Steve’s hilarious spirit alive.
