Took a trip to Hatta Dam with my wife for a fun-filled weekend! It's just a short drive from Dubai and getting to the dam is not difficult. You will enjoy the beautiful mountain sceneries all across the Dubai Kelba road. Once you get there, there is a paved road that takes you right to the top of the dam. There are two areas to park, from which you can easily walk down to the Kayak leasing area (spaces are limited but you won't have issues parking). The parking on the lower side of the dam would make you climb a steep hill so come prepared since there are no water kiosks and toilet facilities.

The place is very clean and well organized. They have a variety of boats for rent. From a single kayak, two-seaters, water bikes, pedal boats, donut boats, and small cruise ships. The single kayak costs AED 60 for an unlimited time. My wife and I decided to take the Yellow Boat instead. Pedal leisurely to the center and enjoy the magical place and serenity of this natural watery amphitheater. The experience is unique and I highly recommend it to anyone coming to UAE. The best time to visit is between October and April. I would also recommend visiting the Hatta Heritage Village for another great experience.
