Newgrange henge - wheat field harvested

Описание к видео Newgrange henge - wheat field harvested

The wheat field where Anthony Murphy of Mythical Ireland along with Ken Williams of Shadows and Stone discovered a previously unknown late Neolithic henge on 10th July 2018 has been harvested. The image of the henge, which was revealed as the result of a two-month drought, is now gone. The henge might not be seen again in our lifetime, although the archaeological features remain intact beneath the surface. It is interesting that the henge should vanish at Lughnasa, the ancient harvest festival, particularly because it might have been aligned towards the sunset at the end of summer/beginning of autumn.
