Testing a couple of additons on the Mini Drak

Описание к видео Testing a couple of additons on the Mini Drak

Kind of felt like putting some rather old gear back into service and managed to work out a few bugs along the way. Used one of the utility cases to house all the equipment inside including the radio and goggles. As for the modules utilized, I wanted to use the Eagle Eyes to allow the diversity between the two Immersionrc Uno5800 v4 5.8ghz video receivers so that i can receive either from the smaller video transmitters on 5.8 or connect with the 2 - 1.28ghz video receiver antenna assemblies that utilize 5.8 relays on low power, and have had some really reliable operation so far, but they can be directly plugged into the Eagle Eyes for better redundancy when operating at fpv meets. Keeping track of the incoming video, there is a small 4" monitor to verify the output video. The telemetry from the Dragonlink transmitter is connected to the 10" Lenovo tablet and loaded with the Tower app to display the moving map as well as track the course. This proved invaluable when recovering the Rvjet after it had the Vector lock up and end up auguring into a swampy grass meadow and just had to mark the final part of the trail to bring it back.
The Mini Drak boomer is still an awesome plane and really can depend on being able to take it out almost any time the batteries are charged up. I installed the third camera as to test out if being able to utilize it as a ground search camera might be useful and will give it a try later on. Just this field is really short for a plane like this considering it hit a peak of 79 mph, covers the field in just a few short seconds.
Just hope to continue to use this gear as long as it still keeps working or regulations come down so much as to limit whatever flying i'll still be able to perform.
