In this video, we discuss the 1969 horror film, Rosemary's Baby, starring Mia Farrow, which won co-star Ruth Gordon an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In Rosemary's Baby, the amiable Rosemary Woodhouse and her struggling actor husband, Guy, move to a new apartment building with a shadowy past. Their new neighbors, Roman and Minnie Casavet, take the young couple under their wing. When Rosemary becomes pregnant, she becomes suspicious that there is something gravely wrong. The truth is revealed at the end of the film, after Rosemary gives birth.

The film is shot subjectively from Rosemary's point of view, which provides the audience with information that only Rosemary is privy to, and no more. By telling the story through Rosemary's point of view, Polanski puts us in the shoes of the lead character, which creates more suspense over the course of the film.
