Well, this is one of the most wholesome tearjerkers I know, from a time when Horner was arguably peaking and had found the middle ground between craft and emotion.
This was also one of the seminal films of my childhood and the score still touches a nerve. Few composers have mastered orchestral bombast and emotional sincerity as much as 80s-Horner did in his best years.
