你知道嗎? 在許多影迷心中，《四海兄弟》的配樂成就，更勝史上第三名電影《教父》。但令人驚奇的是，當年首映美國觀眾反應竟然貶多於褒，害《四海兄弟》一項奧斯卡都沒入圍，連它那令人永生難忘的電影配樂都沒有！
 
就如同他的前輩/替教父配樂的Nino Rota，義大利國寶作曲大師莫利克奈(Morricone)體內留著濃濃的義大利歌劇血液，他非常擅長以人聲或合唱，來表現人生中各種悲歡離合的心境。其實，莫利克奈最厲害的，是他藉由洞悉人性與靈魂深處，轉化為一條條流芳百世音樂旋律的能力。而《四海兄弟》其中的一條旋律，更被王家衛放進《一代宗師》而完全不違和呢！

Morricone到底寫了怎樣的旋律，讓東西方電影大師都愛用呢?

Did you know? For many movie fans, the musical achievement of Once Upon a Time in America surpassed that of the epic Mafia movie, "The Godfather." Moreover, one of its melodies was even included in "The Grandmaster" by Wong Kar-Wai.

Like his predecessor Nino Rota, who scored the music for The Godfather, Italian legendary film composer Morricone had natural-born lyrical blood running in his body. He was very good at using human voice or chorus to express various joys and sorrows in life. In fact, the most powerful thing about Morricone is his ability to penetrate into the depths of human nature and soul and transform it into musical melodies that will last forever.

But, what kind of melody did Morricone write for Once Upon a Time in America that is loved by both Eastern and Western film masters?
