What's happening house lover's and explorers! Today we are taking a look at this beautiful bluestone and red brick cottage that was formerly on Grosvenor Street, Glandore. Still with all its original fireplaces, stained glass and features in place I could tell it was a very warm and much loved home for the former owner's over the years. Demolished along with the rest of the homes on that side of the street. It was built in 1911 for Henry James Pressley and his wife Edith Mabel. They had been married in 1908 at her father's residence in Parkside. A year later they had their first child then decided to purchase the land in Glandore and build their own cottage 1911 where their 2nd daughter Eva Winifred was born in 1912.
in 1916 only son James Stephen was born here giving them 3:children to raise in the cottage.
James went in to marry Una Mavis Giles in 1940 and they both resided in the cottage with his parents for a short period. Henry was a tram car conductor while son James was also a tram employee.
Edith Mabel passed away in September 1955 and Henry James in September 1967.
The cottage then was then purchased by Dimitrios Tsipianitis and his wife Vasiliki in 1971 where it seems it was in their names up to the year 2000.
Cheers for watching and I hope you all enjoy. 👍😁
