Important News! Google just sent out the "𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐏𝐈" 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Emails. And your migration window just opened.

Big update, its a full shift in how you push product data, from feeds, to insights, to automation.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞):
Starting August 2025, the new Merchant API is officially generally available, becoming the primary programmatic interface for managing your Merchant Center, including product listings, promotions, local inventory, return policies, reports etc.

The legacy Content API for Shopping is scheduled to be fully retired on 18th August 2026. Still plenty of time, thanks Google!

1000-row API responses and faster, smoother data handling.
Modular APIs: Update individual products without full payloads, manage OMNI-channel settings, and update return policies more cleanly.
AI-powered features: Access Product Studio (AI-assisted title/description generation), mmore diagnostics, notifications and order-tracking improvements.

If you don’t use Content API for Shopping, you have two choices. You can keep managing your account manually, or switch to the new Merchant API to automate product uploads, update inventory automatically and more.
