Is luxury/high-end makeup even worth it anymore? ( Grwm using Pat McGrath, Dior, ABH, Mario etc.)

Drugstore/affordable makeup has come a long way in recent years, and with this development, I often wonder if luxury makeup is even worth the effort? There are many overhyped formulas that I don't believe are worthy of belonging in the luxury space but there are some INCREDIBLE luxury/high-end makeup products that do deserve to be in that category. I've included some new and old favourites in this review/GRWM.
