This applies not only to our American partners, who are willing to act in accordance with Trump's directives and facilitate a peaceful settlement, but I would also like to express hope that a more adequate attitude and understanding of the situation has been demonstrated by both the Europeans and Ukrainians."

STORYLINE:
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov said that Tuesday’s talks between Putin and U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were "positive" but wouldn’t release any details.

"The Americans are prepared to make every effort to achieve a long-term settlement, which, in fact, meets our goals," Ushakov said on Wednesday.

"The Americans, of course, confirmed their willingness to take our concerns and key proposals into account."

Ushakov added that Moscow hopes that Ukraine and its European allies will take a "more adequate attitude and perception of what is happening," mocking Kyiv’s statements that Ukrainian troops are "allegedly fighting us in certain areas that were long ago liberated by Russian troops."
