What is a 'stave'? - Thinking about A Christmas Carol

Welcome to the twenty-second video in my "'A Christmas Carol' GCSE English Literature Revision" series! In this video, I pause and have a think about why Dickens chose to call the story's chapters 'staves' rather than, you know, chapters.

It's a short and sweet video, this one! I look at some definitions for 'stave' as a noun and then talk about what it might mean 'outwardly' and 'inwardly'. What does that mean? You'll have to watch the video to find out!
