Hariprasad slammed the Prime Minister's remarks, stating that the organization disturbs peace and can only be compared with the Taliban. He claimed no Sanghi joined India's freedom struggle and called the Prime Minister's admiration for what he described as Indian Talibanis deeply condemnable. Another leader, Asaduddin Owaisi, accused the Prime Minister of dishonoring the freedom struggle and politicizing a national event. Questions were raised about RSS registration and funding, with a statement noting, "I will only equate them with the Taliban. They are Indian Taliban. RSS are Indian Taliban."
