At the close of the year, we consider solemn words that warn of the eternal destiny of those who are never brought to believe in Jesus Christ. We consider this verse in 3 ways:

1) why we ought to consider the end of our life
2) the importance of being right with God at the end of our life
3) the solemn consequences of being lost at the end of our life

When we reach the end of our life upon earth, we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ. Are we prepared? Only Christ can impute to us His righteousness and impart to us a new heart and new nature.
