In the previous video (   • Building a compact, two axes fluxgate sensor   ) I made a two axes fluxgate sensor. In this video I will build a functional magnetometer using an Arduino Nano. I will try to reduce the required hardware by squeezing as much functionality as possible in the Arduino. This will include the ADC conversion of the outputs of the two sense coils, the generation of the 800 Hz saturation signal, the synchronous detection of the two fluxgate 1600 Hz signals and the continuous serial communication of the measurements.
The main additional components besides the Arduino are two ADS7816 ADCs (the Arduino’s ADC is not fast enough and has limited resolution) and an audio amplifier module TDA8932T to generate the current required for the saturation coil.
The configuration is kept as simple as possible and does not currently include feedback currents generation.
