Stream Logic's space-hungry samples from a drive other than your system drive.

N.B.: As of Logic 10.4.2 and later, there's now a built-in way to move the Sound Library to another drive: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208892 You can still use this method to move Apple Loops, User Loops or any additional 3rd party content that does not move with the Sound Library.

Every time you move your sample folders, you need to create new symbolic links, since they reference static locations.

But what about aliases, you ask? Learn more about the difference between symbolic links and aliases in the Installation Instructions found in the Symbolic Linker .dmg.

The advice about having three separate drives is most applicable on a pro rig. If you work in film and want to go really nuts, dedicate a fourth drive just for video, or use networked computers.

The size of your Loops folders may vary depending on what other Apple software you have installed and any other loops you may have created or downloaded.
